Composed in 1791 during Haydn's triumphant first London visit, Symphony No. 95 holds the distinction of being the only one of the twelve "London" symphonies cast in a minor key. This reprint reproduces the celebrated Breitkopf und Härtel full score (Leipzig, plate 9150, circa 1855), prepared as part of the publisher's pioneering complete edition of Haydn's symphonies edited under the supervision of the firm in the mid-nineteenth century. Breitkopf's Haydn series established the standard performance text used by orchestras and conductors for generations and remains a cornerstone reference in Haydn scholarship. The present volume incorporates the later Breitkopf reprint bearing plate Part.B.34, preserving the engraved clarity and editorial care that made these scores authoritative throughout the late Romantic and early modern eras.
