Who We Are

Purple 4R Publishing is a publishing house devoted to faithful editions of the classical repertoire. Our catalogue is built from the original engraving plates of Leipzig, Vienna, Moscow, and Paris — Breitkopf & Härtel, C.F. Peters, P. Jurgenson, Durand. These are the editions that fixed the canon in print, the engravings that shaped how the repertoire was understood and performed.

We restore them — removing what a century and a half of physical deterioration has added, without changing a note — and make them available in print through Amazon, in paperback and hardcover, worldwide.

What We Publish

Our editions span the orchestral, chamber, keyboard, vocal, and choral repertoire of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Every score in the catalogue has been sourced from a first or early printing, reviewed page by page, and prepared for modern print production. The catalogue grows as we complete new restorations.
